Welcome to the Sundiver Project!

My name is Casey Mitchell.

I started this blog a short time ago (moved from SquareSpace; it's still in transition) in order to outline my ideas for two projects I'm currently working on in order to get feedback. Of course, anyone ever seeing this is somewhat unlikely, but you never know.

That being said, I'm currently working on some novels. Both are just in their infancy stages, but I'm nothing if not ambitious. I want them to eventually be published. It might take me months. It might take me years. Everyone always tells me I'm stubborn. Let's prove them right, shall we?

I'm not sure how you found this site, but congrats! You'll be taking an inside look at how I plan... or don't. Occasionally I just start writing random things. Some excerpts are usable, some get stuffed into that "not gonna use it but too attached to it to throw it away" Word document. Most writers have things like that, so they can edit honestly and completely without feeling like they've completely thrown out an hour's worth of work.

I created this blog on a whim (and partly at the suggestion of my friends and family). I have no idea if it will go anywhere, but we shall see. I plan on posting some of my chapters on here. Hopefully I'll get some critical feedback, although any feedback at all is always appreciated. At least for me. Other writers are somewhat sensitive when it comes to their work (we authors put a lot of ourselves into our writings, for better or worse), but I want the most honest responses I can get. It's the only way I'll learn and grow. So I'm counting on you guys out there (hello phantom internet people) to tell me what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong.

I will only be showing you the science fiction novel. The fantasy novel is being temporarily put on hold while I work on this one. Not that I don't occasionally write material for it, but for the time being it's not my main focus.
